A ‘tight fit’ describes this new build project comprising 350sqm of convenience store – built over with seven flats, a mixture of one and two bedrooms.
Demolition of existing premises made way for this ‘fast track’ project. With a period of 30 weeks, the client required a shop ready for fitting after 20 weeks to allow doors to open – minimising lost business.
A complex steel framed structure, pre-cast floors and masonry infill this scheme was the subject of the latest sound testing for building regulations. To achieve the required sound parameters UCL engaged specialist consultants – following which meticulous attention to construction detailing was required to fulfil the specialist design.
